The Siena women’s basketball team helped raise a record $30,037 for the Capital Region Action Against Breast Cancer (CRAAB!) at the 13th Annual “Pink Zone” Game presented by Berkshire Bank on February 15.
“I am so grateful to CRAAB! and the amazing committee that organized this important event,” said head coach Ali Jaques. “We are lucky to be a part of a community that supports each other like ours does. Many thanks to all that helped us reach our goal!”
Siena set a goal of raising $30,000 this year after surpassing their goals of $25,000 at last year’s event and $20,000 the year before. Since the game’s inception in 1999, the Siena Women’s Basketball program has raised $105,745 for CRAAB!
Proceeds include money raised from corporate sponsorships, individual donations, honorary committee memberships, a silent auction and raffle items.
During their annual Pink Zone Game the Saints wore custom made pink uniforms and were introduced alongside local breast cancer survivors, recognizing their courageous battles against the disease.
A crowd of 1,471 turned out for the game.
